Khonoma and Dzukou Valley

My early morning walk was on my own as Dick was staying across the valley.

After breakfast we drove up the valley above the village and walked down through the Jum gardens.

After lunch at Ketho's we again drove up the road to the start of our trek at Seikhakie base camp. It was immediately up and quite steep but we only had to carry our warm clothes for overnight and water for a half day.

Kohima to Khonoma

A nice early morning walk down to the shops and along the road past the gaol. Small shops were just opening. On the way back we bought lollies for our trek.

 After breakfast we checked out of the hotel and returned to the Hornbill Festival where we had lunch.

We visited the site of the battle of the tennis court before leaving Kohima and driving to Khonoma.

Ketho's Homestay had two rooms and as one was a double, Liz and Mike stayed there and Dick, Neil and Alister stayed in a house on the far side of the village.
